TURNING 85
My 85th birthday was both a blessing and a challenge to me to maximize the remaining TIME in my life.
So, I would like to share my realizations and reflections about exercise, fitness, health, and longevity in this blog post.
Beginning thoughts about successful aging and longevity:
1. Pursue Total Body Movement from your nose to your toes for strengthening and stretching your muscles by lifting and projecting your chest and rolling your shoulders back and down for Perfect Posture.
2. Diet. I have been a gluten free vegan for about 2O years. I have avoided overly processed food and dairy and prefer only plant based food.
TURNING 85 has increased my sensitivity to the realization that the days of my life are truly numbered and it’s important to make the most of every minute of every day. I strive to experience frequent times and moments of happiness and accomplishment daily.
Most people do not dwell on their mortality unless they have been diagnosed with cancer or some other life ending condition. The reality is that the life expectancy in the USA is age 76 for males and age 81 for women.
So if you are interested in extending your life, you could move to Monaco, Hong Kong, Japan or South Korea.
Please notice the USA is unfortunately not even a close contender for a respectable rating, primarily because of our unhealthy diets and our broken healthcare system.
